Welcome! I'm Aida ("eye-duh")
I work at the intersection of exoplanets and galactic archaeology

... Which exists now that we're in the era of large-scale surveys, and are discovering exoplanets on industrial levels - it's an exciting time!

I use data-driven techniques to extract information on stars and their planets from big surveys (e.g., Gaia, SDSS), and targeted multi-wavelength spectroscopic/RV observations. I'm interested in:

  1. Planet demographics in different regions of our Galaxy, the Milky Way
    (i.e, thin/thick disk, halo).
  2. Fingerprints of planet formation and dynamics (e.g., planet engulfment) in host star properties (e.g., kinematics, chemical abundances, ages).
  3. Chemical (in)homogeneity of co-moving stars as tracers of the Milky Way's formation history.

I grew up in Salem, Oregon. I was an undergrad at Yale (B.S., Physics, 2015), a graduate student at Caltech (Ph.D., Planetary Science, 2023), and a Kalbfleisch Postdoctoral Fellow at the American Museum of Natural History (AMNH) (2023-2024) before starting my current position.

This is my cat, Interstellar Medium ("Izzy").
